Therefore, the corresponding perceptions are also quite different. Being nude is a wish that many would be appalled even when they try (as hard as they can) to even visualising it. However, all the members of this 'many' now belong to the pages of history for the world today has no inhibitions when it comes to be naked.

Naked Cruises serve as the testament to this fact and they also stand 'proud and tall' with the number of tourists (who venture on any one of these cruises) increasing, not every year but rather every month. Every year, a new cruise liner is set up that offers the feature of Naked Cruises. With this new set up comes a totally new range of offers and facilities. Hence, the customer is given a wonderful situation where every succeeding trip on any one of the Naked Cruises has something new to offer.

There have many wonderful developments as a result of these naked cruises coming into place and one of them has been the intermingling of different types of people. Hence, on a naked cruise, everybody from a school teacher, to a chief executive office to a bus driver are naked. The most prevalent perception when one hears about naked cruises is that of having a place where one can have one's sexual fantasies fulfilled.
However, the passengers have to maintain something that is known as nudist etiquette.

There are many questions that are generally asked about naked cruises. However, one of the most frequently occurring curiosities is normally about the crew of the ship on which the passengers embark on a naked cruise. Most of the passengers wonder about whether the crew is naked or not. However, the answer to this curiosity will be quite a mundane one for all those passengers who wish of being served with a chilled glass of champagne by a naked waitress. This is because although the passengers are required to be naked but it is mandatory for the crew to be dressed.

Naked cruises are, therefore, one of the most queried about cruises in the world with the queries coming from the passengers themselves. The world today has many websites that address these queries and there are also many blogs that are written by people who have been on naked cruises.

Author: Max William is a connoisseur of traveling and entertainment. But choosing the perfect honeymoon deal can be just as difficult as choosing the perfect wedding dress.

Tropical Honeymoon Ideas:

Our 'own private island' is the honeymoon dream of many future brides, and Hawaii honeymoons were one of the original honeymoon island destinations, creating for newly weds the impression of being a couple of castaways on a desert island. Today's private island resorts are able to offer honeymoon ideas more 'Blue Lagoon' than 'Gilligan's Island'. Turtle Island has an advantage for being the location where 'Blue Lagoon' was filmed, but Bora Bora's huts hovering over the water are probably the most famous honeymoon idea. Cousine in the Seychelles sleeps only eight - in luxury - and is also a nature reserve protecting sea turtles, Guana Island is one of the last privately owned islands in the Caribbean and Necker Island, one of the British Virgin Islands, has only luxury room for 28 guests so newly weds are sure to find tropical sun, white sand and steamy solitude on all three. A unique honeymoon idea closer to home is Scotland's Eilean Shona, a private island with one of the nicest beaches in the UK and only four cottages - Eilean Shona will also be a cheap honeymoon deal.

Active Honeymoon Ideas:

Another way to guarantee ocean rimmed privacy is to rent your own love boat and set sail on an achingly romantic honeymoon cruise between deserted beaches and quiet coves. Tahiti is the kind of place they set castaway love films, and The Whitsundays has in its group a heart shaped atoll called Heart Reef - almost too perfect a honeymoon cruise for words...

Sailing is a nice thing to do with your lover and romance doesn't have to mean mooching over each other all day. An active and cheap honeymoon idea is to hire a classic car with an open top and drive aptly named Romantic Road through Bavaria's picturesque fairy tale castle region or around the lovely-love-story-backdrop Italian lakes: Garda, Iseo and Como. Learn the sultry, physical language of Flamenco together in Andalusia or take your time strolling the Amalfi Coast, the backdrop of small towns climbing the cliffs as the sun sets will keep things amorous, and you can have your things carried on to the next scenic cliff top hotel ahead of you each day - another
cheap honeymoon idea.

Honeymoon Ideas for Princesses:

If the lead up to the wedding has meant you've hardly had a moment alone then a hideaway love nest honeymoon idea is in order. Villa Bournella, Corfu has legendary status as a honeymoon idea for 2009 - it's designed for lovers around a sloping infinity pool, Le Pigeonnier in the south of France is a literal love-nest, it's a refurbished 18th Century pigeon barn for two, The Windmill on Santorini has the luxury of a private jacuzzi and massage pool a few hundred metres from a sandy beach, all wrapped in whitewashed windmill shaped charm, and you'll see your in-laws coming from miles off from the roof terrace of La Tour de Calanca, a 15th Century tower with views over the bright blue Corsican coast; it also has its own private beach. But these are not cheap honeymoon ideas.

WorldReviwer.com is a travel website with independent reviews on some great Honeymoon Ideas for example Hawaii and Tahiti.

<georss:box>-18.305232 -150.3598801 -16.996607 -148.49220409999998</georss:box>

Houston Weekend Canoeing Adventure

© Photographer: Pontuse | Agency: Dreamstime.com
By E J Jolivet

In Houston, weekends are made for outdoor activities. Many residents love to enjoy the local bayous, whether it's canoeing, boating, kayaking or strolling along the lush green banks. The waterways in Houston are environmental treasures that residents love to explore. The serenity of the floating along the bayous provide a stark contrast to the urban sprawl that occasionally peeks into the green canopy.

Local Paddling Trails

Texas has a "Paddling Trails" program that develops public inland and coastal waters for watery trails that weave throughout the state. Each of the 8 trails are mapped and clearly marked with signage. They are easily accessible for day trips and support a variety of settings for all levels of paddling experience.

The Houston area has over 26-miles of paddling trails, that begin at Highway 6, the outskirts of the city's limits. The trails then flow downstream all the way into downtown's Allen's Landing. Houston canoeing trips can take from 1.5 to 4 hours of to complete a segment of the paddling trails depending on the water levels and flow rates and it takes more than a day of paddling to navigate the entire trail.

Canoeing Buffalo Bayou

The areas most popular waterway is Buffalo Bayou. It's a semi-natural stream with weathered banks that expose the beautiful geology of wind sculpted sand, sandstone and red Beaumont clay. Great egrets, herons, hawks, and other birds are commonly sighted hunting and drinking quick gulps from the waterway. The bayou and its tributaries provide an ideal habitat for cottontail rabbits, turtles, fishes, snakes, and few lonely alligators.

Canoe Rentals

If you don't have your own canoe, a variety of canoes and kayaks are available for rental along with additional paddling equipment and gear, from local companies that provide canoe rentals and guides in Houston.

They have several options. You can book a carry-out trip, where everything you need is packed on a trailer for you and all you have to do is hook to it and go. Or, if you've got your own stuff and are familiar with, equipment preparation, trip logistics, planning sessions, and outfitting they'll help you plan a do-it-yourself canoeing adventure.

Monitor the water conditions, during Houston weekend canoeing trips. They are heavily influenced by the water releases from two reservoirs, Addicks and Barker Reservoirs. Storm water runoff, sewage treatment plants, and natural springs can also affect your trip. You should never attempt to navigate in high and turbulent water conditions. Always avoid log jams, known as "strainers", which can be hazardous, it's best to portage around them.

E J Jolivet covers fun, exciting Houston events and things to do during a Houston weekend on his blog Midtown Live.

<georss:box>29.731354800000002 -95.34694830000001 29.7686138 -95.2885833</georss:box>

Luxury River Cruises in Asia

© Photographer: Bloopiers | Agency: Dreamstime.com

By Karen Cooke

Take a journey back in time and discover the natural beauty of Asia with a luxury river cruise. Journey along the mysterious heart of China, the mighty Yangtze River. See ancient sites and remote villages, and get an up-close look at the Three Gorges Dam. Enjoy the extraordinary scenery along the Mekong Delta, with its mist-enshrouded peaks and dense pines.

The Yangtze River

The Yangtze River, or Chang Jiang, is the longest river in China and Asia, and the third-longest in the world. The river is about 6,380 km long and flows eastwards from its source in Qinghai Province into the East China Sea at Shanghai. As the largest river in the region, the Yangtze is historically, culturally, and economically important to China.

The majority of luxury river cruises either start or end in Shanghai. Shanghai is an exciting and dynamic metropolis located at the mouth of the Yangtze River. Since 1842, the city has grown into a massive international port, attracting people from around the globe.

Bustling urban streets, an emerging fashion district, modern skyscrapers and a pulsating nightlife all give Shanghai a delightfully modern feel.

The Three Gorges is the most spectacular section of the Yangtze River and draws thousands of visitors each year. Located in Sichuan and Hubei Province, the Three Gorges is composed of Qutang Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge.

Qutang Gorge is about 8 kilometres long, with 100-metre high walls, stretching from Baidi in the west, to Wushan County in the east, creating a colossal gateway over the Yangtze River.

Wuxia Gorge is said to be the most beautiful of the three. Wuxia is about 40 kilometres long, while Xiling Gorge is the longest of the three, stretching from the Xiangxi stream in Zigui County to the Nanjin Pass in Yichang, running a total of 76 kilometres.

Fengdu is another essential stop on any Yangtze River cruise. Located at the foothill of the mountains, Fengdu is the only ghost city in China. Temples are situated all over Ming Mountain, in which a series of super beings are supposed to dwell.

Legend states that Ming Mountain is one of the 72 graveyards for Taoism. Tao believes that when people die, their spirits will gather at these locations. From March 3 to 15 of the lunar month, Fengdu people hold temple fair days. During the days, "spirit shows" are held in the streets, attracting many believers. Fengdu is a mystical and terrible place of spirits in the minds
of the Chinese people.

Another stop on the river cruise itinerary is the city of Wuhan, to see the Hubei Provincial Museum. Founded in 1993, the entire museum covers an area of 51,000 square metres. The museum houses 140,000 archaeological cultural relics dating from the Stone Age to modern day. More than 600 of these are listed as national class exhibit items.

Mekong River

The Mekong River is one of the world?s major rivers and thus a major cruise destination. Deep in history and rich in culture, it's one of the last travel frontiers, with its stunning natural beauty and biodiversity. Some of its attractions include ancient monuments, royal capitals and UNESCO World Heritage sites like Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Luang Prabang in Laos; depicting an illustrious past.

Every cruise itinerary must include a stop at stunning Angkor Wat, a temple complex at Angkor, Cambodia, built for the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. The modern name, Angkor Wat means "City Temple."

The temple is the epitome of Khmer architecture. It has become the symbol of Cambodia and is the country's central tourist attraction. The temple is admired for the grandeur of the architecture, its extensive bas-reliefs and for the numerous devatas (guardian spirits) adorning its walls.

Luang Prabang is a city located in north central Laos, on the Mekong River, about 425 kilometres north of Vientiane. The city was formerly the capital of a kingdom of the same name.
Until the communist takeover in 1975, it was the royal capital and seat of government of the Kingdom of Laos. The city is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Luang Prabang has both natural and historical sites. Among the natural tourism sites, there are the Kuang Si Falls and Pak Ou Caves. The Haw Kham Royal Palace Museum and the Wat Xieng Thong temple are essential viewing for archaeology enthusiasts.

Luxury river cruises provide a window to the past and an effortless means to see some of the best Asia has to offer.

Karen Cooke is a professional consultant with Travel Associates, an exclusive Australian travel agency catering to the premium travel market. There are several popular destinations where you can hire for anything from a few hours to a few days.

You can choose from

* Hiring independently for a quiet paddle in the area adjoined to the hire center

* Hiring and transporting the kayak to your kayaking destination.

* Opting for guided kayak tours where they may transport kayaks for a group, to your kayaking destination

I would suggest that unless you are doing a short kayak within the location of the hire centre you will find it best to do guided kayak tours. Not only does this ensure safety when kayaking in New Zealand with someone who knows and understands local conditions, but it means you have everything you need provided as part of the package. Along with the kayak you will always require

* life jackets

* safety equipment e.g pumps

* Meals

* Camping equipment if an overnight kayaking tour

* Waterproof Dry bags for cameras, jewelery, spare clothing, food etc

Why Choose a Guided Kayaking Tour ?

New Zealand does have wonderful kayaking...but knowing about

* the tides

* the very unpredictable New Zealand weather conditions

* local knowledge of problem areas such as submerged rocks or logs, power stations on rivers, water currents, etc are invaluable

* Knowing where to find special scenic areas where birds may be nesting, native bush, lovely beaches, glowworm caves or historic sites all add to a more rewarding experience.

* A guided kayak tour takes away the hassles and concerns you may have, ensures you do not get "lost", and makes for a more relaxed enjoyable experience for kayaking in New Zealand

* Safety - a kayaking tour in a group means there is always help at hand

Popular Tourist Destinations with Kayak Hire

You will come across kayak hire companies in many locations as you travel around New Zealand Listed are destinations where kayak hire is readily available. Some camping grounds will have a few sit on kayaks for hire, to just enjoy the local area. For longer kayaks you really need a sea kayak, or larger river kayak complete with rudder, skirt and space for storage of meals, dry clothing, cameras and other items.

* Bay of Islands - Paihia

* Auckland waterfront

* Rotorua - Hire from kayak shops or small kayaks available in camping grounds

* Taupo - several options

* Whanganui River ( 5 days) -a guided kayak tour

* Nelson/Marlborough - Abel Tasman National Park has kayak hire and guided or independent kayak tours, with several company choices

* Kaikoura - for seeing seals and marine life

* Guided Glacier kayaks at Mt Cook and the West Coast Glaciers

Plan some time to enjoy a kayak on your New Zealand holiday. It is a wonderful way of experiencing pristine areas only accessible by water and our diverse marine life. By choosing the right kayak experience for your abilities, time frame and what you most want to see... you will go home with another New Zealand adventure to remember.

I have kayaked many of New Zealand's lakes, rivers and coastline over the years including the Abel Tasman National Park as a 4 day independent trip. My kayaker husband is a regular on short and long kayaking tours belonging to the Canoe and Kayak Club which is part of one of New Zealand's major kayak companies. Our pristine, often untouched waterways, bush, birds and marine life can be experienced at close quarters from a kayak in a way they cannot be experienced otherwise. New Zealand from the water is a unique experience I recommend to everyone.

If you're planning a visit to Boston, Boston Duck Tours offer a memorable way to see many of the most important sites and get oriented to the city. You'll also have loads of fun.

Why? Well, for a start, you ride around high above the surrounding traffic in a World War II-style amphibious vehicle. General Motors built 21,000 of these land-and-water vehicles, code-named DUKWs, during the War. Each of the 24 vehicles used for the Duck Tours sports a unique and colorful paint job with a name reflecting something about Boston's history and attractions, such as "Liberty Teresa," "Symphony Hal," and "Frog Pond Lilly."

You'll also enjoy the tour guides, or "ConDUCKtors," as they're called. Going by names such as "Major Tom Foolery," "Commonwealth Cowgirl," and "Dr. Ima Quack," they'll soon have you laughing with their witty and informative stories about Boston history, events, and traditions. Not only do they tell you about the sites you pass by, but they'll also give you the inside scoop. Of course, some of their tales, especially those you'll hear as you pass by Boston's historic cemeteries, may not be 100% true.

You'll tour several of Boston's most interesting neighborhoods - Downtown, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and Charlestown - and as you pass groups of pedestrians and cars with open windows, your ConDUCKtor will strongly encourage you to quack. That's right, quack. Of course, you don't absolutely have to...but once you notice pedestrians quacking back and waving, you may get into the spirit of the tour. After all, how often do you normally get to quack at people walking down the street?

For a lot of people, the biggest highlight of the Boston Duck Tours is Splashdown. Remember, you're in an amphibious vehicle designed to travel on land and water. You'll drive up next to Boston's Charles River - and suddenly, you're in it! You'll want to make sure you have your camera with you because you'll get some great views of the city skyline that you can't get anywhere else.

In case you're wondering if only tourists go on these tours, the answer is "no." Boston locals also love the Duck Tours, and they're a popular venue for work celebrations, family outings, school trips, and sometimes, just something fun that friends do together for no particular reason. And of course whenever the Boston Red Sox win the World Series, the Duck Tour vehicles lead the celebration parade.

Boston Duck Tours depart from Prudential Center, the Museum of Science, and New England Aquarium. You can buy tickets at these locations as well.

Interested in Boston Duck Tours? Now that the weather is getting a little better here in the UK, hitting the water on your hen weekend no longer seems like a crazy idea, in fact it might just make the best hen weekend in the history of you and your friends' hen weekends! One of the hot spots for white water rafting in the UK is Edinburgh, which just also happens to be famous for its night life; enough to please the rowdiest of hen parties! If this sounds like it might float your boat, read below to find out more about white water rafting in Edinburgh.

What is White Water Rafting?

White water rafting is an energetic and challenging activity that involves guiding a raft through "rapids" usually in a river and has been a popular activity as a sport since the 70s. The name White Water comes from the appearance on the top of the water caused by the rapids. As the river's gradient drops, turbulence is caused in the water causing lots of little bubbles which froth on the top like foam and giving the water a white appearance. It's this uneven water which makes the activity so challenging and so much fun on a hen weekend.

Why Edinburgh?

Edinburgh is in the South East of Scotland on the east coast of the Central Belt near the North Sea. Edinburgh has two main rafting rivers, the River Tay; the longest river in Scotland, and the River Tummel. These rivers are very popular for white water rafting in Scotland because they offer a variety of rapid grades from 2-4. Grade 2 means you can expect some rough water and only need basic paddling skill and grade 4 means you could expect some steep drops and might require some manoeuvring skills! Whether you and your hen party are complete beginners or have some rafting experience under your belt, you are bound to find a white water experience that suits you in Edinburgh.

What can I expect?

On arrival at an activity centre, you would be given a safety briefing and then be equipped with all the safety items and kit that you will need to enjoy this experience the most. Once you are kitted out with helmet, paddle and life jacket you will be taken to your raft by your instructor and then hit the open water. Once on the water you will be guided through the river and as your instructor leads the way you and the rest of the girls on your hen party will need to paddle and steer to make sure the raft, and all the hen party in it, makes its way down the river in one piece!

Why on a hen weekend?

If you're looking for something fun but different, then White Water Rafting in Edinburgh has this. You will need to work as a team with your girls to steer through the great Scottish rivers and this will be a tremendous bonding experience that you'll never forget. But sometimes you need to get away from it all and just relax and rejuvenate. A yacht charter may sound like an extravagant vacation that only a privileged few can afford. But it doesn't have to cost a fortune - it can actually be less expensive than spending a week at a hotel.

Here are 8 ways that can help you save a bit of money and still have that perfect vacation:

1. Travel with a group of friends/family. It's always less expensive to share the costs with a group. As an example, I found a crewed sailing yacht in Italy for $9,800/week that sleeps 12 - that breaks down to $816/person. Or how about a skippered boat in the British Virgin Islands for $4,895 that sleeps 6-8? That comes out to $611 - $815/person.

2. Take advantage of the weak economy. Many boat owners and charter companies are faced with fewer bookings and are consequently cutting rates and running specials. One way to stay up to date with the latest offerings is to sign up for newsletters from charter companies, magazines and other publications from the part of the world you are interested in.

3. Ask if the price is negotiable. Most boat owners would rather rent out their boat for slightly less than not at all, so don't hesitate to ask, even if you are dealing with a charter broker company. Make sure to ask what the "hidden" or extra costs are - and if they can be included in the price listed.

4. Getting to your destination. If you're chartering through a company, ask them if they offer airfare discounts. Many of the larger charter companies can negotiate lower prices on airlines flying to their charter base than what you are able to find online.

5. Last minute deals. If you're able to travel on short notice, look for last minute charters. Booking a yacht only 30 days in advance can save you 25% or more. To make sure you hear about the latest deals available, sign up for newsletters from charter companies, and also set up a few Google alerts.

6. Go slightly off-season when the weather is still nice but the crowds are lighter and there are more deals available. Late September/early October in the Mediterranean and April-June in the Caribbean are good times to go.

7. Early boarding. Avoid spending the first night in a hotel - instead ask for an "evening boarding" or "early boarding", which allows to you spend the night before your charter start date on the yacht. There is sometimes a fee associated with this, but it's usually less than a hotel room, and you only have to unpack once.

8. Exchange boats. Swapping homes has been a popular way to vacation for decades now, and this great, affordable way to vacation has caught on in the boating communities around the world. If you don't own a boat yourself, but if you're an experienced boater (you'll need documentation to prove it of course), see if you can do a home/boat swap: your home for someone's boat for a week (or longer).

Sarah McAllistair writes about yacht vacations and helps you decide on the perfect charter option for you.

Cruise Ship Review - The Holland America Zuiderdam

By Robert Deveau

.
The Zuiderdam is a series of mid-size ships in Vista class of ships in the Holland America Line. Built in 2002 this was the first of the Vista class of ships. The four vessels in the Vista Class of ships are all representations of the four directions: Zuiderdam (south), Noordam (north), Oosterdam (east) and Westerdam (west). The differences between the Holland America Line vessels and those of other cruise lines is the unsurpassed service and luxury. I truly believe that one must experience this level of comfort at least once in a vacationing lifetime.

When boarding this Holland America Line vessel, the first thing that you will notice is the attention to detail in the decor of the ship. The Zuiderdam's atrium features a Waterford Crystal Seahorse which sets the mood for exquisite pieces of art to be seen throughout this elegant ship. At midship, each side features outdoor elevators which allows you a beautiful view of the ocean while you are in the elevator.

But the true beauty of this ship is its crew. Staff are attentive and polite, more so than on any other ship I have been on. The almost one staff member per two passengers ratio on board ship is the highest of the major cruise lines and it shows. If you require assistance, then assistance will be there. For me, the real elegant touch were the rolled cotton towels in the washrooms, instead of paper towels.

Having a gross tonnage of only 85,000, classifies this ship as a mid-size ship, but it is certainly big on elegance, service and class.
.
When I cruise, I really enjoy everything it has to offer. From the first-class Broadway style shows to the five-star gourmet cuisine.
.
If you are going on a cruise vacation, you will also want to get the most out of it. I can help you learn the cruise basics as well as more advanced money saving techniques

Cruises With Princess

© Photographer: Stiven | Agency: Dreamstime.com

By Jez Rourke

Princess Cruises offer their passengers the chance to escape in a world of luxury to discover exciting cultures and breathtaking sights on their top super liners. The Atlantic and Mediterranean coast offer over 2300 miles of coastline; two important mountain massifs -the Atlas, divided into Middle, High and Anti-Atlas, with the highest peak of North Africa at 13.700 feet, and the Rif facing the Mediterranean Sea-, provide innumerable rivers flowing down their slopes into the plains and a fluvial network of thousands of miles.

Moreover, the diversity of Morocco's landscape, the biodiversity of its coasts and countryside and its excellent tourist industry, as well as the fantastic weather and many attractions it offers, make of it one of the most sought after destinations in the world and an impressive venue for the practice white water.

The water levels vary depending on the season, but the most favourable period for white water descents is probably the spring, fro, Mars to May. The thawing of the mountain ice and a slight increase of rainfall provide excellent white water descent conditions, spectacularly adorned by the sight of the snow-capped summits of the Atlas Mountains.

Some of the most thrilling and exhilarating descending spots are found in the wadis, those gullies or streambeds peculiar to the Maghreb and the Middle East, which are usually quite deserted. They are generally found at the bottom of canyons and gorges, with the stunning panoramic background of the mountains, and their water is fresh, pure and fast.

A region famous for its exceptional white water rafting conditions is the Oum Er R'bia basin in the Middle Atlas. Its name, meaning "Mother of the Spring", is said to come from the over 40 sources of salt and fresh water that feed the river, although the mythological version states that Oum Errabia swore to sacrifice 40 people a year by means of drowning. The Oum Er R'bia River has a significant rate of flow of 117 m³ per second, which explains the fact that no less than eight dams have been built along its 375 miles. A fantastic descent along the Higher Oum Er R'bia goes upstream from the Tanifnit Bridge down 8 miles, or 20 more miles if you choose to go all the way to Khenifra.

Also in the High Atlas, the River Ahanssel is a great rafting and kayaking location for the whole family. Its clear white-water rapids, streaming down abrupt gorges and impressive rock massifs, offer some of the most beautiful landscapes in Morocco. The rapids there, such as the famous Wee Stinky and Cheeky Little Monkey, are quite exciting but never above Grade Three, apart from the powerful Ali Mohammed Gorge area, which make it a safe descent for children.

The trip down the river, via the towns of Beni Mellal and Khenifra, around the small village of Imi n'Ward, and finishing at the beautiful lake Bin El Ouidane, is also a perfect location. In the high Ahanssel, we also recommend the challenging 17 miles descent from Zaouia Ahansal to Tilougguite.

Other fantastic rafting and kayaking locations are the Dadès Gorges, especially the descent from Boulmalne and the Todgha gorges to Skoura, a 46 miles long ride; the El Abid wadi, ten miles upstream from Taguelft, and you can go on until you reach Ouaouizaght.

But, as in many developing countries, water is a vital and priceless resource. Moreover, as in most African countries, it is also a very scarce one indeed. Particularly Morocco, with over 2000 miles of Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline, has a very heavy dependence on water and its proper maintenance and care. The diversity of its wildlife, the stability of its developing but still poor economy and, most importantly, the health and welfare of its people rely crucially on its cleanliness, supply and sustainability.

Many organizations and associations are working conscientiously to avoid the dumping of industrial waste onto the sea, for the conservation of the sea and fresh water sources as well as some of the species that inhabit it, and against the inequitable allocation and lack of provision of water. But all these circumstances, which have caused an enduring crisis that points to fatal long-term consequences, are still an unfortunate occurrence, although avoidable if we become aware of them and campaign or act upon them.

So, no matter what your choice of white water sport is, be it rafting, kayaking or canoeing, Morocco offers a wide range of fantastic rapids and lakes, as well as an absolutely incomparable natural setting and biodiversity. Accommodation is cheap, diverse, and of the highest quality. Besides, Morocco offers countless attractions and assets: a fascinating, millinery history; a rich and exquisite cuisine; a most diverse and affordable accommodation; and a people notorious for their generosity and hospitality. Come to Morocco and enjoy its water and its magic!

Your white water sports Moroccan adventure will be even more successful if you choose the most suitable accommodation Morocco has to offer according to the most convenient location, by the sea or near the best rivers and rapids. Moreover, many hotels in Morocco will help you organize your transportation and rent all the equipment you may need for a most pleasant and enjoyable rafting, kayaking or canoeing experience. Enjoy the ride!

David Gonzalez-Company is a writer, journalist, educator and translator who has traveled extensively and has lived in several European, North American and African countries.

<georss:box>22.480323 -22.0340265 41.103081 7.848786499999999</georss:box>

Enjoy Kayaking in Phuket

© Photographer: Mayangsari | Agency: Dreamstime.com

By Dinesh Patairya

Phuket is a wonderful place to enjoy kayaking. Nature has bestowed Phuket with fine natural beauty and kayaking amidst the scenic views is for sure a delightful experience. If you want to enjoy kayaking while soaking in the natural assets, you could opt for Phuket and areas nearby.
And when it comes to facilities, Phuket could stand at per any other place in the country.

Phang Nga

Phang Nga, located in neighborhood of Phuket, is the best place in Thailand for kayaking. You would be amazed to see the huge limestone formations of Phang Nga. Kayaking is the best way to see the elegance of these natural structures. While you are there, you also get the opportunity to see the strange hidden caves. You can access these caves through natural tunnels when the tide is favorable. You would relish paddling into these caves. Even during day, it is quite dark beneath these caves. You better never try to enter any such cave on your own. Always take experienced guides with you.

James Bond Island

James Bond Island, another isle near Phuket, is another good place to enjoy kayaking. It is the place where the movie 'The Man with the Golden Gun' was shot in 1974. You can get here delicious seafood in lunch. Kayaking as well as other kinds of water activities are also available on the island. Or you could just lie down and gaze at the sea on the long beach. Kayaking to James Bond Island is something all travelers like.

Self Paddling

If you wish to take only your companion on your boat, opt for self paddling. You could paddle your kayak into the mysterious caves of Phang Nga, with your instructor at appropriate distance from you, or you could just paddle around in the sea, occasionally playing with the water.

Kayaking Trips

For hassle-free kayaking trips, you could avail the services of reputed and recognized operators in Phuket. You would be taken from your hotel in cars to the jetty where you take a boat for the kayaking venue. The package usually includes the lunch. Kayak to your heart's fill, enjoying the aquatic beauty in the process. While returning from kayaking trip, you could also get a chance swim or paddle. A good guide could tell you a lot about kayaking in Phuket, options for tourists, local culture and much more. People who have previously toured Phuket could give you tips about the operators. Selecting a good operator means all your work is done. You just have to enjoy the tour and leave the rest to your operator.

So it can be said that any kayaking tour of Thailand remains incomplete without Phuket in itinerary. It is a place which deserves a place in your touring program of Thailand.

Dinesh Patairya has been writing on tourism for several online and offline publications for years. It never crossed my mind that Nepal could offer amazing adrenaline pumping white water to warrant being rated along with some of the worlds finest.

Of course when you picture sublimely crisp alpine rivers kissed by the Himalaya, roaring into narrow gullies, along white sandy banks, through pristine jungle and quaint farm estates. It must be very hard not to want to take a peak yourself!

I was new to the sport of white water rafting when I first ventured to Nepal, and when my travel companion persuaded me into tackling a river she had ventured on twice and was completely in love with I was simply terrified. I didn't know what to expect, and then there it was, my introduction to rafting and the mighty Kaligandaki River. At best a 3 to 4 grade, the river has some intense fast sections, holes to trap any raft and some fantastic rapids. It's great for Kayakers, beginner rafters with an adventurous spirit, and those experienced rafters that just want to have some fun.

Camping at night, with the sound of the river roaring along, camp fire alight, cosy tents and good company has got to be one of the best things to do on holiday.

Nepal not only has this fantastic river, but offers a multitude of rivers ranging from freakishly advanced to perfectly calm, for scenic enthusiasts that just want to cruise along and take photos with the occasional easy riding splish splash rapid. Some of the rivers Nepal boasts are as above the divine Kaligandaki, the wild Bhote Koshi and the gentle Trisuli, along with three very exciting and scenically spectacular river expeditions on The Karnali, Tamur and Sunkoshi.

An absolute feast for any white water enthusiast, from first timer to advanced adrenaline junkie looking for the next rush.

There are two ways you can go about rafting in Nepal. If your one of those 'do it when I get there' types, it is easy enough to organise it once you get in to Kathmandu or Pokhara, the streets are lined with rafting and kayaking tour companies all looking for your business. Word of caution though, you really need to do your research before venturing in with blind faith, some companies aren't too proactive with the moto "safety first" and tend to scrimp on equipment where possible. I remember my friend sinking rather than floating one time, after she fell out in a fairly intense little rapid, she later said her life jacket was like a led weight, rather than buoyant.

I now opt for a certified tour company that offers rafting trips as add on activities to their initial tours, have concentrated rafting tours, as well as include them in package tours with trekking and mountain biking (link below). At least I'm guaranteed they use approved equipment, and are insured, they have emergency evacuation procedures, qualified local guides, and are really well organised. It's peace of mind and makes for an incredible and enjoyable experience.

The best times to go are between March to June, when the rivers are fed by the pre monsoon rains and September to October, when the rivers are fed by snow melt. Towards late October the rivers are lower, the holes are deeper, but the rapids tend to be in shorter bursts and give you time to recoup before the next onslaught. The weather gets cooler the further you get into October, so you will need to bring warmer clothes for the night time camping. Earlier in the year the Monsoon fed rivers can be a pretty intense time to raft, most rivers are swollen and running particularly fast, with not much break between rapids. December through to February tends to be quite cold, and getting wet is not very enjoyable, remember where this water comes from, it's freezing! So in saying that, the river guides tend to become dormant throughout these months.

Most rafting companies in Nepal supply dry bags for clothes and sleeping bags, as well as iPods and other technological gadgets. I still recommend bringing your own dry bag for extra care. Companies like Sea to Summit do some great light weight ones in all sizes, and will easily tuck into the heavy duty dry bags the rafting companies supply.

I'm now an avid fan of rafting Nepal, and I hope I have inspired you to get out there and give it a go; it really is an incredible rafting adventure and a must do.

Jenny Lama
D'Tours Original - Original People, Original Tours

For more information about Kayaking or Rafting in Nepal please visit my Web Site http://www.dtoursoriginal.com

<georss:box>23.566029 76.653305 33.223684999999996 91.594711</georss:box>

Traveling With A Boat

By Trevor Kugler

For those individuals who like to travel and explore new places, having a boat with them can be a huge advantage. The possibilities that a boat can offer the average traveler are almost endless. The problem is that towing along a boat can not only be expensive, but it can also be quite a pain in the butt. So how in the world does a person travel with a boat and not tow it behind their vehicle? By moving into the twenty first century and getting your hands on a quality inflatable boat, that's how. When you're dealing with an inflatable boat, traveling with a boat just got a whole lot more convenient.

Now before you roll your eyes and start thinking that an inflatable boat is out of the question, hear me out. Inflatable boats have come a long way from the type of inflatable boat that you're thinking of. Technology has enabled manufacturers to produce extremely high quality boats that happen to be inflatable. If you so choose, you can even get quality inflatable boats that a motors can be attached to without any problem. Some inflatable boats even come with very long warranties against springing leaks and such.

How convenient would it be to travel with a boat that could easily fit in the trunk of your car? Do you think being able to store your boat in a small place might be an advantage to an RV user? Of course, the answer to both of these questions is a resounding YES. The convenience and affordability that an inflatable boat has to offer is hard to beat.

The bottom line is that traveling with a boat doesn't have top be an expensive and cumbersome pain in the butt. There are alternatives that not only save in traveling expenses, but also in the cost of the boat itself. Inflatables are a fraction of the cost of a "traditional". So the next time you think traveling with a boat is more trouble than its worth remember, it doesn't have to be.

Trevor Kugler is Co-founder of JRWfishing.com Trevor has more than 20 years of fishing experience, and raises his three year old daughter in the heart of trout fishing country....Montana.

Check Out These Boats and Pontoons: http://www.jrwfishing.com/boats.html

Get Informative Fishing Information For FREE, Become A Better Angler - http://www.jrwfishing.com/signup.asp

Carnival 2-Day Cruises

By Elija James

Carnival Cruise Lines have shorter cruises available that last from 2 to 5 days. The canal itself traverses right through the center of the Languedoc-Roussillon, giving travelers an excellent view of the region's breathtaking vineyards, landscape and reservoirs. And as if the geographic views are not enough, you will also be able to see more than 350 structures such as various bridges, underground passageways, aqueducts, and more.

The Canal du Midi truly offers any traveler a great opportunity to sample all the best things the region has to offer. Consider the following:

• See Carcassonne and its popular ancient walled city.

• Visit Trebes and Castelnaudary, which is the home of the cassoulet.

• Go wine-tasting Homps, Fanjeaux and Montreal.

• Visit the spectacular city of Narbonne and the ever popular series of nine locks (les neuf ecluses de Fontserannes) at Beziers.

• Gape at the ancient city of Agde and enjoy the simply life of its fishing villages.

The Best Ways to Enjoy Your Canal du Midi Vacation

Since the region has much to offer, it's best to travel by car along village roads near the Canal rather than to take the designated motorways. But if you REALLY want to take your time and truly see things up close, then why not go for a biking holiday?

Sheltered towpaths are available to cyclists and walking enthusiasts and are closed off to vehicles. Taking this option, you'll cover the Canal du Midi in 5-7 days. There are plenty of travel guides you can purchase to help you on this route. Do you feel that a week of traveling is too long? Well, if you think about it, what's the rush? Enjoy the best that the region has to offer!

But of course, the best way to travel the Canal du Midi is by boat.

For day trips, there many operators along the canal that offer such an excursion. Such a trip takes 1-2 hours and the boat will be commandeered by the operator. Rates are 6-10 Euros per person, with a slight discount for kids.

If you'd rather go alone, this option is available too and you only need present an 'A' class (tourist automobile) license. You'll get a quick training on how to use the boat and you can be off before you know it!

Lastly, if you want to cruise along the Canal du Midi longer without a care in the world, then you'll be glad to note that there are boat and barge hotels also available.

Since the Languedoc-Roussillon's climate is pretty mild all year round, you can take your trip anytime you wish. However, do note that boat locks are closed November to mid-December. Peak season is from July to September so do book in advance if you want to take your trip during this time.

For a location to visit at least once in your life add the Canal du Midi to your list. The canal is located in the Languedoc Roussillon region of France and Carcassonne is a good place to start your journey.

<georss:box>43.607516000000004 1.4091045000000002 43.615284 1.4236955</georss:box>

Cruise Travel Tips

© Photographer: Maigi | Agency: Dreamstime.com

.
By Doris Jumbe
.
Are you planning on going on a cruise? Well if this is your very first time, you may not be very sure what to expect. Having a few tips to help you out can be very helpful to you. So, here are some important cruise travel tips to keep in mind when you go on a cruise.

Tip #1 - Have a Carry On Bag - The first one of cruise travel tips that you'll need to remember if you're going on a cruise is to make sure that you have a carry on bag. Once you get on the ship, you'll want to visit your cabin but you can't expect your baggage to show up for awhile. So, it's a good idea to have a carry on that has some clothes and a few essential toiletries on hand.

Tip #2 - Get a Map of the Ship - Cruise ships are huge. You don't want to get lost and a map can definitely be a huge help to you. Make sure you have the map and take a bit to look it over so that you'll be able to more easily get around the ship.

Tip #3 - Walk to Where You're Going - When you are going to dinner or you are going to a show on board, you may want to walk wherever you are going. You'll find that the elevators are probably going to be full and often many people are trying to wait for an elevator and they may not be in a great mood. So, just go ahead and take a stroll and get a bit of exercise walking to wherever you need to go.

Tip #4 - Keep the Noise Down at Night - If you are out late at night, make sure that you keep the noise down. You don't want to go around slamming the doors of your cabin, since it can wake many people around you up. So, have some courtesy and shut your doors as quietly as possible to avoid encounters with grumpy cruise mates.

Tip #5 - Avoid Wearing Expensive Jewelry - When you are on a cruise ship, don't go around wearing your most expensive jewelry so everyone can see it. Of course there will be some formal dinners where you will want to look great, but leave the most expensive jewelry at home. You may become the victim or a thief if you go around flaunting expensive jewelry.

Tip #6 - Tip Generously, is the last one of the cruise travel tips listed here; When you are out there on a cruise, make sure that you tip generously whenever possible. Most of the people on the ship make very little money except for by your tips. So, make sure that you are kind enough and generous to give a great tip.
Finally, make your cruise travel memorable and all that you want it to be by doing a lot of planning before you travel.
.
For detailed information on planning visit http://www.your-cruise-travel.com and for more information on cruise travel tips visit this particular page http://www.your-cruise-travel.com/Travel-Tips.html
.
By Doris Jumbe

Copyright(@)2007-2008 Cruise Travel Tips Article
All Rights Reserved

What Are the Best Luxury Cruise Lines?

© Photographer: Indos82 | Agency: Dreamstime.com

.
By Dennis Lindsay

Dennis Lindsay
Level: Platinum

Author of European-Cruise-Guide.com - Your source for information and advice to help you plan the ultimate European cruise vacation....

Trying to determine which is the best luxury cruise line is a little like trying to deciding which is the the best Beatles song. It is virtually an impossible task. There are so many good ones, and all offer something a little different that set them apart from the others. With that in mind I have compiled a list of 3 of the best luxury cruise lines operating today. See who made the cut below:

Seabourn Cruise Lines - In operation for more than 2 decades now this company has become synonymous with the word luxury. Like the other players in the ultra luxury market Seabourn's ships are small. In fact they are so cozy and exclusive that the company actually markets them as The Yachts of Seabourn, and life aboard feels like a day at the club rather than a cruise at times.

They are world renowned for their fine dining, and a meal served here wouldn't be out of place in one of Europe's finest restaurants. If you are looking for exclusivity and privacy you can't do much better than Seabourn.

Regent Seven Seas - This small cruise line is known for delivering both comfort and superior technology. Egyptian cotton linens are standard in all their suites, and if you want to get your entertainment fix and stay connected to the rest of the world while at sea Regent has you covered. Flat screen TVs, DVD players, Bose stereo systems, Wi-fi internet access, and even onboard cellphone service are all included.

Crystal Cruises - Speaking of exclusivity, Crystal Cruise Lines only offers two ships in its fleet, so booking passage may be a challenge indeed. However, if you are one of the lucky ones to experience a Crystal cruise you will agree that it was well worth the inconvenience of securing a ticket. Known for their ability to offer ocean liner amenities on small ships, Crystal really stands head and shoulders above its peers. Food and wine are top-notch with exotic culinary options including sushi bars! Crystal even caters to families and is one of the few ultra luxury cruise lines to include children's activities on its ships.

This is just a sampling of the best luxury cruise lines operating today. Others like Silversea and Cunard are good as well, and offer high end all-inclusive cruise options that can put the big lines like Disney, Carnival and Princess to shame.
.

Looking for more cruise line reviews? Time for you and your family to relax. Here are few tips on how to pick the best Croatia cruise and enjoy your vacation the most.
It is maybe the best if I share with you my experience.

First time I've heard about gulet cruising was from a friend who used to book gulet cruises with his buddies and business partners. He told me this shocking-to-the-bones story...

Not all gulets are the same.

First time he was on his cruise, it was good... so good that he returned the same summer for another cruise. This time, he picked a wrong gulet. Captain didn't speak English, cabins were dirty and they had to stick to the route with no suggestions allowed (partially because of poor understanding with the crew). That scared me that I have almost canceled my cruise scheduled for the next year.

But fortunately, I didn't.

I've found a gulet that was perfect... from the crew to the gulet itself. It was so nice and relaxing that it became my must-have vacation at least once and often twice a year. Since then I've discovered a few things every gulet tourist should know about.

First things first... pick a good gulet. Make sure a crew can speak English and that cook is experienced. Second, ask for pictures of a gulet itself. If everything looks fine, the last step is to contact the owner personally and make sure you'll in fact spend your time on that particular gulet. If everything is alright, then you are good to discover these tips on how to enjoy your Croatia cruise the most.

Taste homemade wines and local food. Adriatic sea is rich with fish and islands that are producing special, very tasteful wines. You should try them. Don't make a mistake by drinking popular well-known wines from France or wherever. You'll be surprised how delicious local wines are.

Second... eat fish. If you are lucky, you might get just caught fish served on your table. Fish you cannot taste anywhere else but on Adria.

At last... listen to the captain. If you pick the right gulet it will be a wise choice to listen to the experienced captain. He knows that area like his own pocket. He knows where to find the most amazing, breath-taking places you would never found otherwise. In conclusion, it is a must-have cruise and a joy you'll remember for the rest of your life.
.

As it is hard to pick the right gulet, here's my suggestion. It is a beautiful, magnificent yacht Patronice at http://www.croatia-gulet.com I was there last season with business partners and it was absolutely fabulous. Plus, the owner is skipper which means a lot. I wish you a dream cruise!

<georss:box>41.221777 7.729296999999999 48.978223 22.670703</georss:box>

8 Ways to Make a Yacht Charter Vacation More Affordable

© Photographer: Vladislav_m | Agency: Dreamstime.com

By Sarah McAllistair

We're all trying to cut costs these days, and "staycations" have become all the rage.

It's always less expensive to share the costs with a
group.

If you don't own a boat yourself, but if you're an experienced boater (you'll need documentation to prove it of course), see if you can do a home/boat swap: your home for someone's boat for a week (or longer).

.
Sarah McAllistair writes about yacht vacations and helps you decide on the perfect charter option for you.

============
.

Travel insurance from Worldnomads.com

Indonesian Surf Travel - Mentawai Islands Boat Trip

By Greg Campbell

In April of 2006 I set off on a 16 day trip with a couple of friends to the Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra. Leading up to the trip I did a lot of research on how to prepare for the unknown. The trip was virtually charter boat based with only a couple days on land at the beginning and end of the trip. Granted, on-board accommodations were plush by local standards. Still, I wanted to be prepared.

Some important things to pack are light cotton long sleeve shirts and pants, a couple wide brim hats (the sun is intense along the equator). Plenty of waterproof sunblock; 50 spf would be recommended. Take along reef booties, the low cut, split toe kind work great. Powdered vitamin packets that dissolve in water, energy bars and sea sick aids would be a good idea if you are prone to motion sickness.

Mosquito repellant with Deet! This is a must, especially if you will be on land in the evenings. The mosqitoes are relentless at dusk and dawn. The main concern is in populated areas where mosquitoes can easily feed from one person to another possibly spreading malaria along the way. While on the boat you still need to be vigilant, wear your long clothes and lather up with repellant, but you can relax a bit. Make sure you have some lights on to keep an eye out for mosquitoes. The main ones to watch out for have the 'tiger stripes" on the wings. At dusk you will notice campfire smoke wafting up through the trees along from the island villages. The locals do this to keep the "mozzies" at bay. Do some research on anti-malarial drugs and consult your doctor.

Bring along a first aid kit. If you travel with someone who works in the healthcare industry have them bring sutures, anesthetic, etc... If not get ahold of some if you can, there is bound to be someone on the boat who is experienced in stitching. Take butterfly bandages to help close up any cuts from the reef while out of the water.

Speaking of the water (from the hotel or restaurant plumbing). Don't drink it. Go bottled. Period. End of topic.

For the start of your trip you may want to consider a sleep aid depending how far you are traveling. I flew out of San Diego stopping in Japan, Singapore and Central Sumatra before landing in Padang. It was just about 24 hours worth of flying over about a couple day period. The flight was long and almost unbareable toward the end. Consider taking along something such as Ambien or go natural with Melatonin. Remember not to drink alcohol while taking a sleep aid. Consult with your doctor.

So to recap on first aid supplies and other suggestions keep the following on your list:

Quality Cloth Medical Tape, Bandages & Latex Band Aids, Second Skin, Sleeping Pills, Betadine, Hydrogen Peroxide, Lomotil or other Anti-Diarrhea, Anti-Biotic Ointment, Anti-Fungal Powder, Aspirin, Sun Block & Lip Block and Sunburn Lotion.

When traveling to this region of the world along the equator, it is very important to research and prepare for the climate and local customs. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and their religious customs run deep. You will most likely not run into fanitical Muslims who harbor great resentment for Westerners. You may want to avoid areas in Jakarta, Timor though. The Indonesian people are largely warm and welcoming; the epitome of happiness and a great many of them are dirt poor! We could learn alot from them.

When in public it is considered respectful to wear long pants as exposing alot of skin, even for men, is considered somewhat inappropriate. If you are a surfer and want to wear shorts in the high, heat high humidity. Go ahead, they will usually understand however; do not enter into any religous site or otheriwise religously significant location in your baggies.

I hope this has been of value, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Greg

Greg Campbell is a San Diego based entrepreneur, independent agent for United First Financial, surfer, husband and father of 2.
